Welcome to the USS Shanghai, registry NCC-82941. The year is 2391. Starfleet has been stretched thin with its numerous tasks – from humanitarian in helping the Romulan Star Empire recover from the Hobus Supernovae, to threats from old enemies, and numerous points of internal turmoil. However, there is always a glimmer of light. For the Shanghai, that light has been Outpost Seppala. For the people of the Outpost though, that light is the Shanghai. As the only large Starfleet vessel in the area, the Shanghai leads the region’s cadre of ships in their exploration effort.

Shanghai’s list of missions is expansive. The NCC-82941 was integral in a number of small conflicts; from fighting to secure a place for the Ryuu Species, to battling pirates, borg, and worse, to its final demise in an Syndicate trap. Now, the crew of the NCC-82941 has been sent as part of the Federation’s Rimward Exploration Initiative (REI) to explore Sectors in the Auriga section of the Perseus arm of the Milky Way. The exploration of this new region is still in its earliest stages, but there is always a drive to explore, and the countless dangers that come with any exploration.

::: Current Mission :::
“Shakedown Mark II” or “Togo, where no one has gone before!”

The USS Shanghai returns to Outpost Seppala from Federation space with supplies and construction equipment in tow – only to find out that the attached Saber Class vessel, the USS Togo, has experienced a malfunction in its warp core during its first mission away from the station. The Shanghai moves to assist the Togo before the second wave begins to arrive at Seppala. But Togo wasn’t just out here for fun – and her long range probes have begun to pick up interesting readings…

:ON:

With a deep sigh, Christine set the PADD on the desk in front of her and leaned back in her chair. She rubbed her eyes tiredly. There was only so much reading she could do. The time flashed 0300. She had five hours before she was due to report…

On:

Sun sat with her legs against her chest, along the soft couch just under the viewport of her window. She was not the vision of a Starfleet Captain at the moment. She clearly wanted to be comfortable, so she was only wearing a loose undershirt, and a pair of…

Lyn opened the hatch into her runabout, which prompted a smile on Kachiko's face as she followed her green friend inside. Moving into the back, Lyn motioned for the Marine to take a seat.

Settling into the plush pink cushions, Kachiko’s smile disappeared, “I have news, doll. It is unexpected…

The Shanghai had arrived at Seppala Station earlier that day. The first course of action had been to set everything in order. The Shanghai had been abuzz with activity sense. She had decided to take a moment to do something she thought was important. She had left the bridge in…

Mission: Shakedown Mark II
Posted on Sun Sep 17th, 2017 @ 4:58am by Captain Sun Mei Xiang

Seppala Station sometimes felt like the furthest point from Federation territory. Across the void of space between two spiral arms, the station was the last possible Federation stop for explorers coming this far rimward. The station was small. It was little more than an older civilian mining station based on…

Hey dad!

It's been a long time since I've chatted with you, and I'm sorry that I haven't been as active as I have been in writing you lately. I was able to get transferred to another ship after my medical leave was up. She's a…

Well, it had to happen eventually. Getting wounded, that is. Actually, it's amazing I avoided it as long as I did, given that I get shot at for a living. The crazy part is that it was all because of a traitor. Not crazy that it happened, but crazy that…

Vulcan is an elegant language. Economy of style, logical progressions of etymology, and contrary to popular belief, only one word for "heat". Felek, for reference. However, oddly enough, I'm not reading much about heat in the context of temperature. The Vulcan summary of the events surrounding the Reformation and the…

Well, there goes any hope of sleeping tonight...

I settled down with the computer to see if I could get a good game of go out of the onboard program. It normally doesn't get much call on starships that I'm aware of, so I didn't have high hopes, but it…
