Welcome to the USS Shanghai, registry NCC-63384-A. The year is 2390. Starfleet is working hard to keep the quadrant peaceful. There is civil unrest, political issues and most importantly, uncertainty as the Federation moves into the future. After the Hobus supernova explosion, Romulus is gone and the survivors have tried to start a new homeworld, New Romulus in the Galarian system. The Neutral Zone, as we knew it no longer exists. Now called the Demilitarized Default Demarcation Zone, or D3 Zone it is mainly there as a stark reminder of what once was. The Shanghai has been reactivated, called into service. Crewmembers new and old are returning to their duty stations. Only time will tell if the Federation can keep everything together and prevent itself from tearing apart from the inside. It's a dangerous time.

Our missions have taken us to numerous places in the galaxy, each with a story to tell. We've been to Akilor to settle colonists, fought pirates, stopped invasions, fought species 8472, the Borg and many more. We've been places where no one has ever been and seen things people would die to catch a glimpse of.

I am Sun Mei Xiang, the Commanding Officer of the USS Shanghai. The newest Vesta Class Starship, we would like you to be part of the action. Click "Join" to start your adventure today!

Mission: Solid Light
Posted on Sat May 17th, 2014 @ 3:20pm by Captain Sun Xiang & Lieutenant Commander James Barnes

Mei had been feeling a bit better. It had been sometime since she had gone through the motions of confusing the holograms in the brothel she had been dragged into. Calling for the program to end or the arch was about as useful as trying to explain she wasn't…

Mission: Intermission

James was standing outside of the Counselor's office on Deck 4. He had somehow found a way to make the trip from his office, located below on Deck 5, take as long as possible. Now he found himself stalling outside of Christine's office, trying to not look like he was…

Mission: Intermission
Posted on Fri Apr 18th, 2014 @ 9:44pm by Lieutenant JG Dominic Delaney Jr. & Lieutenant Commander James Barnes

"Security Authorization denied. Please try again." The computer's voice droned overhead. "Warning, one more failed attempt will lock the system out."

Dominic kicked the console underneath the station that he was working at. "Damn computer, I swear that as soon as I get access I'm tearing you apart." He muttered…

Mission: Solid Light
Posted on Fri Apr 18th, 2014 @ 2:18am by Lieutenant Commander James Barnes

James had made his way through the main part of the town that he had deduced was named Juniper Creek. The town was a bit larger than he had originally anticipated, with some areas deserted while others were decidedly occupied. Ever the hard drinking detective, he had sniffed out…

Mission: Intermission
Posted on Thu Apr 10th, 2014 @ 8:54pm by Lieutenant JG Dominic Delaney Jr. & Ensign Nikolas Laommiorvatovovich

The door to the room whooshed open and Dominic groaned as he tossed his overcoat on the chair by the door. What a day. So much had happened, the young officer was about dead from exhaustion. Meetings, drinking... hell, there was so much to do in his new department that…

Computer, begin recording.

Hey dad!

It's been a long time since I've chatted with you, and I'm sorry that I haven't been as active as I have been in writing you lately. I was able to get transferred to another ship after my medical leave was up. She's a…

Well, it had to happen eventually. Getting wounded, that is. Actually, it's amazing I avoided it as long as I did, given that I get shot at for a living. The crazy part is that it was all because of a traitor. Not crazy that it happened, but crazy that…

Ensign Aaron Markus, Personal Log, Supplemental: I have arrived onboard the USS Shanghai and will be assuming the position of Chief of Operations. I'm hoping my tenure here will be long and full of adventure. Seeing as how we're pretty much in the middle of nowhere, there should be plenty…

Vulcan is an elegant language. Economy of style, logical progressions of etymology, and contrary to popular belief, only one word for "heat". Felek, for reference. However, oddly enough, I'm not reading much about heat in the context of temperature. The Vulcan summary of the events surrounding the Reformation and the…

Well, there goes any hope of sleeping tonight...

I settled down with the computer to see if I could get a good game of go out of the onboard program. It normally doesn't get much call on starships that I'm aware of, so I didn't have high hopes, but it…
