Overdue Awards

Posted on Sat Feb 19th, 2011 @ 2:14pm by Rear Admiral Relau Chlan (Ret.)

Hey all,

These awards have been pending in the Awards pool since January 4th of 2011. I apologize for not announcing them earlier, but they were level 2 awards, and I got in trouble for that once. So, here they finally are.

Silver Star, Lt. Cdr. Rai'ya
As the Commanding Officer, you are in a unique position to be able to see people grow from their humble roots at the beginning. Whether or not those people come into the simm as a lowly Ensign, or a transfer, or what have you, a CO is in the position of being able to observe this. I have seen Jools, who plays Lt Cdr. Amoran on the Shanghai do such a thing. When she first started on the Shanghai, I didn't really know what to make of her. She was way more outgoing than I was, and it still shows to this day. Jools always knows what to post, when to post it, and how to have fun on the Shanghai. I completely and without reservation, nominate and approve the Silver Star to her. Because when the going gets tough, she's always there, in the middle of things, and she has one of the best posting records on the ship. I am proud to have her on the Shanghai, and hope that she receives this award for the simple fact she is one of the best writers I have ever seen in simming. Signed, Commodore Chlan

Scheherezade Award, Lt. Cdr. Franz
I have only ever given out one of these awards before in my entire simming career. This is because I believe that this award should not be given lightly. Franz has shown incredible writing initiative in his time on the Shanghai. He has gone from a counselor who never wanted to be promoted past Ensign to one of the driving forces on the ship. He has had numerous sub-plots, writing posts and opportunities to mold his character and the simm, and he has taken it to the limits. He truly is one of the most gifted writers on the simm that I have ever seen, and this award is completely deserving and indeed, the highest quality writing award for the highest quality writing I have seen in a long time. Signed, Commodore Chlan

Please congratulate these people and continue posting. I appreciate everyone's hard work on this simm, and rest assured, it is noticed. More awards will go out later this weekend. Thank you all!
