New Mission

Posted on Mon May 23rd, 2011 @ 1:47pm by Rear Admiral Relau Chlan (Ret.)

Hey all!

Since we are winding down the other mission with a few lagging posts, it's my pleasure to announce the next mission (Season 3, Mission 1), or also known as number 14 for us, titled "Return to Roots". The description is below, and we'll fill in juicy details as we go along. We'll get posts knocked out of the park here soon, and we will be able to finally explore a more human side to the crew, other than the incessant fighting we've had in the past. Here's the description.

Over two years since the launch of the Shanghai, and the CO finally gets to return to his ubiquitous home. The USS Shanghai is dispatched to Akilor where the survivors of the Ryuu Colony are settling down. Most of the colony has taken off, the Ryuu are working with their neighbors to grow the colony, and significant advances are being made in the sciences, arts, and the infrastructure of the colony. Indeed, they are light years ahead of where they should be at the moment, and it's all put down to the hard work of the Ryuu colonists. All seems well in paradise, but something lurks under the surface. Some of the Ryuu aren't doing too well, and everyone is talking about the colony, but only good things. It's being talked about as the next Risa, but it's only been two years. Nothing seems out of place, but when the Orions show up and offer their help, Starfleet is alarmed and sends their one ship that has the most experience with Ryuu - the USS Shanghai to support the newest ship of the line, the Vesta-class USS Chimera in orbit around Akilor. Strange things are happening here...

Please note that this mission will lead into a mirror universe mission. Those details are still being worked out, but we hope that they won't be too confusing for you all. We'll be available if you have any questions. Thank you!

Yours,
William
Relau Chlan, CO
