Explanations, not Excuses

Posted on Mon Mar 19th, 2012 @ 11:24am by Rear Admiral Relau Chlan (Ret.)

Hey all,

So this is the time for explanations, not excuses. The Shanghai is pretty much dead at the moment, and it is the Command Staff's fault for that. Let's just explain where we are at for the moment, and where we see ourselves ending up.

So first up, this mission isn't what the Shanghai needs right now. We need a new mission, and I promise that a new one is in the works. It'll be a simple mission, one that we can all have fun with. This will come out in the next few weeks.

I say a few weeks because the command staff is a bit busy right now. I have finals in the next 2 and a half weeks, and since they're all upper division classes, it's a pain. Nathaniel is currently cleaning up after a tornado ripped through his town in the past week or so.

It's not any sort of excuse, but an explanation of what we as a command staff are going through at the moment. We promise that the Shanghai will be coming back, it is just going to happen. We don't have to answer to anyone ( Obsidian Fleet), and I own the website and the domain, so we don't have to worry about getting kicked out of our website or whatever.

In any case, we'd like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to stick around for us to get back on our feet. If you feel that, for whatever reason, the Shanghai won't be a great place for you, we take resignations without any prejudice in this regard.

We wish you all to be safe, happy and to check your email occasionally for us. My finals end on the 6th of April, so you can expect a full blown update around that time (or, as normally happens, I get so fed up with finals that I say screw it and start working on something more fun, like the Shanghai).

Once again, we invite you all to stick around. We're coming up on three years here and I can't think of anyone else I'd rather spend it with.

The Shanghai will emerge strong.
