TO: Commander Demetrios Alexander Kolokotronis, Executive Officer, USS Portland

Dear Uncle Demetrios,

Δόξα τω θεώ! Congratulations on your promotion! I've missed you my Uncle. I apologize for me being unable to reach out to you earlier.

Things have been improving, overall. My anxiety has definitely lessened over the past few months, and my grievance over my beloved wife, God bless her, has somewhat subsided. I still see the ships therapist frequently but my mental health has been on the up. I know you've worried, but I assure you, I am thriving and doing better than ever.
Have you have heard about my transfer? I've been assigned to the Shanghai. She's a beauty of a ship, and I thank God for the opportunity to serve aboard her. It'll be a fun ride, and I'm the new Chief of Ops. I'll be on the bridge a lot more; I love being at the forefront of everything, as you know.

My parents, your brother especially, have not been supportive after my loss, as you know. I don't get messages from them anymore. They never liked Haley Celine, and still continue to show no sympathy. I don't understand the coldness. I appreciate your constant support, Uncle, even when your brother is so stubborn.

How are you? I hope everything is going well after your promotion. The Portland has seen a lot of action lately, at least in the reports I've been seeing. Take care of yourself, stay safe, Uncle. The bridge is especially dangerous. I pray for you everyday, may Saint Michael be with you.

Θα σηκώσω τα μάτια μου στους λόφους, από όπου έρχεται η βοήθειά μου.

Fear God, pride the family, honor the Fatherland.
Goodspeed Uncle.

Lieutenant Alexander Kolokotronis, USS Shanghai
Chief Operations Officer
