Posted on Mon Apr 16th, 2018 @ 12:23pm by Commander Karsel`lyn Lylyl-Llytherraias & Lieutenant Commander Azumi Morganna

Mission: Of Persephone
Location: Shanghai Sickbay
Timeline: Current

Lyn had managed to sneak into Sickbay, something that her half-sister Kachiko had taught her years and years past.

She had heard word that somehow Azumi Morganna was aboard and out of time. Then again, Karsel'lyn had clearance beyond her station, given the classified information she had been exposed to when a deep cover agent managed to rescue her from the Romulan Star Empire off of Romulus itself. In addition to the work she and her ill-fated Squadron performed for Intelligence during the Dominion War.

She paused very briefly before opening the hatch to Azumi's private recovery room, slipping inside silently and unseen. When the hatch closed behind, Lyn stood and looked to the bunk, smiling at the dozing woman there.

It was indeed Azumi Morganna! Lyn was heartened to spy the lovely face of an old shipmate and friend, taking the several strides between the two. Lyn reached out and gently cupped Azumi's right cheek, "Zumi? You awake?"

Azumi opened her eyes, then blinked blurrily a few times.
"Lyn!!" She sat bolt upright.

She grabbed her old friend and pulled her into a tight hug,
"I'm so happy to see you! Everything is so....different..."

Lyn squeaked with the sudden move from Azumi. She draped her arms around the taller woman's neck, "You have no idea how happy I am to see you, darling. We never did get to discuss what went on between you and my beloved, way back when."

"So I read that you're somehow out of time, here?" Lyn asked. "I'm currently working as Mei's yeoman, so I read and compile everything for her."

With that, the little green pilot kissed Azumi's cheek, "I have missed seeing your gorgeous face, Zumi."

Azumi giggled for a moment then her face grew serious.
"And your face looks.. older Lyn." She drew back. "One moment I was doing a routine check in engineering the next I'm flat on my back in a war zone seven years in the future."

She nodded at a PADD lying on the bed. "I feel like the world has moved on, half my friends and shipmates are no longer here, there's an older version of me out there somewhere who has been living a life I know nothing about... "

She shook her head "It's all a little overwhelming."

Lyn nodded, "I imagine so. Mei and I have a beautiful daughter... from the future. Long forward in the future at that."

"I couldn't even begin to imagine what she's going through, knowing that she won't ever see her actual mothers again," Lyn smiled and sat on the bed next to Azumi. "Heh, I remember that time you got really hurt and I crawled into the bed with you and held onto you. I remember how much you mean to Mei and how much I wanted to be sure you were alright."

Zumi blinked rapidly in confusion.

"I hope you're feeling a bit better this time around?" Lyn asked.

"Wait.. what? A daughter from the future? How does that work?" Azumi asked.

Lyn grinned, "In the future, which hasn't happened yet, Mei and I are married and Doc Franz managed to create a viable fetus from my and Mei's DNA. Her name is Cai, Cai Sun."

"She's almost an adult now, and to try and avert some crazy war that would see the eradication of every Alpha and Beta quadrant power and numerous genocides, future Mei and future me sent Cai back in an attempt to prevent whatever event it was that sparked the war," Lyn shrugged. "Mei and I were still aboard the old Shanghai. The Akira Shanghai. Since that Shanghai has since been lost entirely, the event in question is no longer possible and Cai's future timeline is gone. So we have a lovely teen daughter now."

"I can't wait for her to meet you!" Lyn grinned before hugging the Engineer again.

Azumi shook her head in disbelief.

"I'm so confused...." She whispered as she returned Lyn's excited hug.

"One of the downsides of time travel," Lyn said softly into Zumi's ear. "You should speak to our System Defense Commander and mission advisor to the Captain. She and I apparently share the same mother, making us half-sisters. She and I have a really long history, which I really can't talk about. She has experienced some weird stuff with time travel."

"That, and something tells me that she'll like you," Lyn laughed. "Her name is Lieutenant Colonel Bayushi Kachiko. If you can believe it, she's actually shorter than me!"

"Her wife died about three years ago and she also has a little girl," Lyn drew back. "She's a telepath, too, so you two have that in common, too."

"This is so much to take in" Azumi shook her head. "So much is different, so many new faces."

"She helped Mei out after she was stabbed on Earth," Lyn smiled as she sat next to the gorgeous Betazoid. "I can guarantee you that she will like you. You're a smart girl, you're a telepath and you're sexy as hell."

"She's my half-sister and I want her to be happy," Lyn said, amused at finding herself playing matchmaker again. "I want you to be happy, too. I think that maybe you and her could be very good together?"

Then Lyn suddenly embraced the other woman again, "I'm so happy we have you back, Zumi!"

Azumi returned the hug, she WAS happy to see Lyn but talking to her for any length of time was like trying to hold down a tornado. She smiled to herself. Somethings at least hadn't changed.

"Well, I'm not supposed to be in here," Lyn murmured into Azumi's embrace. "I will be back soon, though. I promise."
